https://solarleadlab.com/contact-us/Using Facebook and Instagram ads to generate your own solar leads, can be a game changer for any solar installer business.  You can generate your own ultra high quality leads that you can turn on and off like a faucet. We also have exclusive pay per lead options at much more competitive rate than the “big guys”.

Did I mention we see Facebook generate leads at fraction of the cost of buying them! Using Facebook & IG ads, we can find your ideal customer, build trust, tell a story, highlight customer reviews & educated your potential customer on the benefits of solar before you ever speak to them. This gives your potential customer a much higher quality experience & build a lot more trust than by knocking on their door, uninvited.

However we see many solar businesses fail with Facebook ads by making rookie mistakes. The good news is that many solar businesses are still using outdated marketing tactics (if any at all), so if you can get this right, you can easily dominate your market. We help our customers do just that and often run ads on a pay per lead basic & make life ultra easy for the sales team.

Here are 5 tips to step up your solar lead Facebook advertising game.

1. No Stock Photos

Everyone notices a stock photo in their news feed. These scream ads & causes most people to scroll right past your ad, which increase your cost per lead. Use high quality pics of your team in action, your office, your customers, really anything that lets you begin to build the human connection needed to make a solar sale. Use a nice photo when the sun is shining with your phone, no fancy camera is needed. Take both vertical & horizontal & use them for different types of ads.

2. Use Video

In 2019, Facebook & Instagram love video & will often reward you with much lower lead costs. The platform & customers love video. No doubt about it, video does take more time but it’s absolutely worth it. Start with a simple video under 1 minute, 30 seconds & 15 second versions, or at least one of these. Again the video can be recorded on your phone, just make sure the video is not shaky & use some kind of stabilizer & a lavalier mic (if talking). You can have a very high quality video setup for around $100. I promise this is much easier than it sounds & the extra effort with separate you from the competition & payoff for your business. Make sure to use captions (text at the bottom) because most people have the volume turned off but like to follow the captions along on videos.

3. Use Customer Reviews

In 2019, everyone loves to see reviews.  You should have some customer reviews on your public Facebook page if at all possible. You should also have some customer video testimonials. These will build trust for your brand & have your solar panels pre-sold before every speaking with your sales team. People are savvy in 2019 & do their research before purchasing, especially such a big decision as a solar install. Make it easy on them! Make sure your public Facebook brand & website put your best foot forward. If you don’t potential customers will go to your competitors that follow these essential steps to any businesses in 2019. Offer discounts to a few customers to record a testimonial video for you. Get 2-4 testimonial videos & your products will sell themselves, instantly improving your close rate, revenue & making the sales team instantly better. Have your customers make a short, simple video testimonial. Filmed on a phone are perfect as they look & feel authentic & people connect with these.

4. Retargeting

Is your solar lead Facebook ad campaign using Re-targeting? You are missing out on leads big time, if you are not. If a customer makes it to your website or clicks an “ad” but doesn’t complete the “lead”, they often just need a little more trust in the company before they accept a call from you. Send them retargeting videos about customer success stories (saving money, getting off the grid, having a great experience, etc).

5. Stop Selling!

Not every advert needs to be focused on sales. Instead, focus on engagements. Share something of value for your followers. Share sharable posts. Studies show that we tend to tune out blatant adverts. We’re so used to seeing adverts online that we automatically ignore them. So instead, look for other ways to obtain value from your advert.

Hope these 5 tips take your solar lead campaigns on Facebook to the next level.
